И кад уђе у Јерихон и пролажаше кроза њ,

Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

И гле, човјек по имену Закхеј, који бјеше старјешина царинички, и бјеше богат,

Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

И искаше да види Исуса да га позна; и не могаше од народа, јер бјеше малога раста;

And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.

И потрчавши напријед, попе се на дуд да га види; јер му је онуда требало проћи.

So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

И кад дође Исус на оно мјесто, погледавши горе видје га, и рече му: Закхеју! сиђи брзо; јер ми данас ваља бити у твојој кући.

And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house."

И сиђе брзо; и прими га радујући се.

So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully.

But when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner."

А Закхеј стаде и рече Господу: Господе! ево пола имања својега даћу сиромасима, и ако сам кога занио вратићу онолико четворо.

Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold."

А Исус му рече: данас дође спасеније кући овој; јер је и ово син Авраамов.

And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;

Јер је син човјечиј дошао да нађе и спасе што је изгубљено.

"for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

А кад они то слушаху настави казивати причу; јер бјеше близу Јерусалима, и мишљаху да ће се одмах јавити царство Божије.

Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately.

Рече дакле: један човјек од добра рода отиде у даљну земљу да прими себи царство, и да се врати.

Therefore He said: "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.

Дозвавши пак десет својијех слуга даде им десет кеса, и рече им: тргујте док се ја вратим.

"So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, 'Do business till I come.'

И грађани његови мржаху на њега, и послаше за њим посланике говорећи: нећемо да он царује над нама.

"But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, 'We will not have this man to reign over us.'

И кад се он врати, пошто прими царство, рече да дозову оне слуге којима даде сребро, да види шта је који добио.

"And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

Тада дође први говорећи: господару! кеса твоја донесе десет кеса.

"Then came the first, saying, 'Master, your mina has earned ten minas.'

И рече му: добро, добри слуго; кад си ми у малом био вјеран ево ти власт над десет градова.

"And he said to him, 'Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.'

И дође други говорећи: господару! кеса твоја донесе пет кеса.

"And the second came, saying, 'Master, your mina has earned five minas.'

А он рече и ономе: и ти буди над пет градова.

"Likewise he said to him, 'You also be over five cities.'

И трећи дође говорећи: господару! ево твоја кеса коју сам завезао у убрус и чувао.

"And another came, saying, 'Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief.

Јер сам се бојао тебе: јер си човјек тврд: узимаш што нијеси оставио, и жњеш што нијеси сијао.

'For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.'

А господар му рече: по твојијем ћу ти ријечима судити, зли слуго! знао си да сам ја тврд човјек, узимам што нијесам сијао:

"And he said to him, 'Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.

Па зашто нијеси дао мојега сребра трговцима, и ја дошавши примио бих га с добитком?

'Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?'

И рече онима што стајаху пред њим: узмите од њега кесу и подајте ономе што има десет кеса.

"And he said to those who stood by, 'Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.'

И рекоше му: господару! он има десет кеса.

("But they said to him, 'Master, he has ten minas.')

А он им одговори: јер вам кажем да ће се свакоме који има дати: а од онога који нема узеће се од њега и оно што има.

'For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

А оне моје непријатеље који нијесу хтјели да ја будем цар над њима, доведите амо, и исијеците преда мном.

'But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me.' "

И казавши ово пође напријед, и иђаше горе у Јерусалим.

When He had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

И кад се приближи Витфази и Витанији код горе која се зваше Маслинска, посла два од ученика својијех

And it came to pass, when He came near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples,

Говорећи: идите у то село према вама, и кад уђете у њега наћи ћете магаре привезано на које никакав човјек никад није усједао; одријешите га и доведите.

saying, "Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose him and bring him here.

И ако вас ко упита: зашто дријешите: овако му кажите: оно Господу треба.

"And if anyone asks you, 'Why are you loosing him?' thus you shall say to him, 'Because the Lord has need of him.' "

А кад отидоше послани, нађоше као што им каза.

So those who were sent departed and found it just as He had said to them.

А кад они дријешаху магаре рекоше им господари од њега: зашто дријешите магаре?

But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, "Why are you loosing the colt?"

А они рекоше: оно Господу треба.

And they said, "The Lord has need of him."

И доведоше га к Исусу, и бацише хаљине своје на магаре, и посадише Исуса.

Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own garments on the colt, and they set Jesus on him.

А кад иђаше, простираху хаљине своје по путу.

And as He went, they spread their clothes on the road.

А кад се приближи већ да сиђе с горе Маслинске, поче све мноштво ученика у радости хвалити Бога иза гласа за сва чудеса што су видјели,

Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen,

Говорећи: благословен цар који иде у име Господње! мир на небу и слава на висини!

saying: " 'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

И неки фарисеји из народа рекоше му: учитељу! запријети ученицима својијем.

And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples."

И одговарајући рече им: кажем вам: ако они ућуте, камење ће повикати.

But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."

И кад се приближи, угледа град и заплака за њим

Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it,

Говорећи: кад би и ти знао у овај твој дан што је за мир твој! али је сад сакривено од очију твојијех.

saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

Јер ће доћи дани на тебе, и окружиће те непријатељи твоји опкопима, и опколиће те, и обузеће те са свију страна;

"For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side,

И разбиће тебе и дјецу твоју у теби, и неће оставити у теби камена на камену, зато што нијеси познао времена у којему си похођен.

"and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation."

И ушавши у цркву стаде изгонити оне што продаваху у њој и куповаху,

Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,

Говорећи им: у писму стоји: дом мој дом је молитве, а ви начинисте од њега пећину хајдучку.

saying to them, "It is written, 'My house is a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.' "

И учаше сваки дан у цркви. А главари свештенички и књижевници и старјешине народне гледаху да га погубе.

And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him,

И не налажаху шта би му учинили; јер сав народ иђаше за њим, и слушаху га.

and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to hear Him.
